Bottom mount is one of the most vulnerable positions in Jiu Jitsu. If you find yourself in this position, it's bad news and you need to do something about it before it's too late and your opponent progresses their position and moves to submission attacks.
One of the first things you should be thinking of is blocking your opponent's hips by creating a good frame with both your arms. In the video Sensei Douglas Santos shows how this can create the necessary space to move one of your knees in, and create a hook that will be the initial point of a sweep. Once your knee is inside and your leg is hooking, you will undertook one of your opponent's legs and transition into the sweep finishing with a technical stand up motion that will end up with you in a position where you can start passing your opponent's guard.
